tomtom go

hi, i recently got an old dead tomtom go. it came without an sd card. i was able to charge it up and turn it on. it indicates to put in an sd card. when i put a blank one in it indicates to take it out. current models add more memory for additional maps. shouldnt this work without the card. also when i plug in the mini usb connector it acknowledges that i am connected to my computer. what am i doing wrong can i get this to work. do i need to download some firmware?

Re: tomtom go

Insert the SD card in the slot.
Connect your tomtom to your computer.
Format it as FAT32.
Download and install TomTom Home if you don't have it.
With your tomtom still connected, start TT Home.
It should tell you to download and install the Navcore (operating system)as per that model.
Once done all you need is the map.
