TomTom will not send me a rebate

Hi there! the main reason to buy the tom tom was the rebate.Could you tell me what I am doing wrong.Back 12/15/07 they had 100.00 rebate and I bought it at office depot.They say they are non-authorized.The frist time they said I didn't send a proof of purchase,this is the second time,they say non-authorized..THX

Sorry to hear your troubles. Give them a call on the phone. That is the only way you will resolve this problem

Thanks for writing back,but I did call two times.The first time,I got cut off between when they wanted to know if I wanted to speak English.Than I called back,they told me the computer was down.THX

Was the discount being advertised as part of the Office Depot sale or did you find it elsewhere independently?

I've seen this with Garmin, and people that buy units off of ebay (unlicensed sellers, gray market items, etc) and then try to use the rebates and get the same thing from Garmin.

Though office depot is a bit different, they aren't some shady street salesman. If you have anything from them discussing the rebate - I would bring that to the table with Office Depot and let them know of the dispute.

Thanks to everybody!This has been going on since 12/15/07 .The thing they wrote back and said was,They didn't get the receipt, after I had sent them the bar code and receipt togather.So I sent then another copy of the receipt.Now another month goes by,and they send me another letter saying not valid retailer.So I send them a copy that shows that they are on the list.Its been one thing after another.So you can't get to them,so I email them today.I made a copy of the bar code from the box,I have the paper thats saids 100.00 mail in rebate.The dept# 98116 .So we are going to be useing alot of Postage stamps!

Sounds like a hassle...but then again the goal of their rebate program was successful (to get you to buy their product ). They hope that you won't actually send it in and get your money back...so it's always a hassle .
Glad to see you're giving it to them though, keep up the good fight

There are plenty out there that never send in their rebate checks (like me .) so the money is in there, that's for sure!

Hello etap, actually back when the rebate was going on some stores such as staples, best buy, circuit city and more, had the rebate as an instant discount. I did the same thing and purchased one for my mother at staples and found a downloadable rebate form on-line and submitted it but because I purchased it at Staples it didn't qualify.

I hope everything works and if so please follow-up and let us know.

Wished I would have got her a Garmin.
