NO Day & Night Mode Autoswitch in 2100 max??

Hi guys. I just bought the Navigon 2100 max and so far is great. But it does not Auto-switch from Day & Night. I have to do it manually. Now when I check the european Navigon 2100 max web site, the uropean version provides this feature. Why the heck we in the USA get crapier version. Why Navigon does not release an update for us to provide this feature?

If it makes you feel any better, I cannot figure out how to do this in the 7100 either

You can't figure it out because it is not one of it's capabilities. And I too am not happy about it. Oh well guess you can't have it all. Overall though, I like the 7100 as well as any unit I have had, and I have had quite a number. Am really enjoying that little N100 Looxs model as well. Ya'll take care and stay safe. .............. Hank I gotta ask, how can you even compare these guys to the trusty 2720 Garmins?

The 7100 routing is so so, the entry is nothing short of agonizing, the devices are sluggish as sin, and the only saving grace is the lane advisor and the road signage. Those two things are really nice! ...but they don't have me singing their praises.

I guess Im trying to figure out what I'm missing (besides money in my wallet) because I have a 2610 with 4 year old maps I'd rather use than a navigon thats 3 weeks old

Re: NO Day & Night Mode Autoswitch in 2100 max??

I shared with your frustration. I have a 2120 Max (Canadian Version) and just the same there's no auto switch for day and night. I already sent this concern to Navigon.

What is worst, these models the 5100s, 7100s & 2100s in Europe are using the 8100 format. This is what I saw in their pictures.

Further, another concern is the tiny font and no voice prompt for traffic info. Perhaps they will include these customer's input in their next model. I haven't read any reviews about the 8100 models and I am not sure if the 8 fonts size were modified to at least 10.

GPS is becoming more like computers nowadays. They are not created equal and they will not give all those stuff in one basket. This is a marketing strategy.

Nevertheless, I love my Navigon most especially in freeway driving.

Regards.
