Hello Everyone,

I just upgrade my Navigon 2100 to software version 1.1. I was very dissapointed with all the run around I had to do to upgrade it. First, I only found out about the upgrade accidently while online looking to find an antenna for my unit. I never recieved a email from navigon stating that the new update was available even thought I had signed up for the newsletter.

As for the actual upgrade, my 2100 didn't come with a USB cable. The USB cable is has a smaller connection than I use for my other computer equipment so I had to go out and buy a USB cable that would fit. I found that Radio Shack carried the one I needed.

Now before I went to buy a USB cable I tried to use the card reader on my computer, which should have read the card, but it was a no go! Windows Vista said I needed a driver and couldn't figure out how to get around that. Has anyone else had the same problem with Windows Vista?

Now as for upgrading it, I had to go and log onto my Navigon from NAVIGON Inc. - Navigation Systems and Navigation Software for Mobile and In-Car Navigation. - Navigon USA. After I downloaded it, I had to unzip the file and then remove the old file on the SD card and then replace it with the new file. Now when you do this update, it removes all of your saved address, so you either have to put them in again, or go to the old file and transfer the data in. I hope that in the future the updates will be more automated.

Also I was wondering if anyone knows when FRESH will become available or it it was on the download for version 1.1.

Mike, On my 7100 I had a couple of options, I could either replace the entire subdirectory with the new files, or selectively replace files. The process was a little different when doing it via an SD card reader or by connecting the device to the PC. I use XP Pro and avoided any Vista issues...

Navigon Fresh will be a desktop application and so not a part of an update to the unit but rather a way to update...
