I want to try out the Navigon 2100 here in the US and in Europe (I will travel to several European countries soon).

My question is does Navigon has European map available for download to the 2100 model ?

Be careful with that approach...unless things have changed over the last few months, buying a US version Navigon and then buying a European map may not work. I called Navigon a few months ago to ask that very question...they said it was not possible at this time to load euro-maps on the US version of the Navigon.

Would be nice if that has changed. I'm finding that it is just less expensive to get a GPS unit (e.g. Garmin 370) with both maps preloaded...good luck!

Thanks for your info. The garmin/tomtom models with both US & Europe maps are too expensive. I figure the cheapest solution for me is like getting a Tomtom ONE XL or XL-S with US map, then purchase European map and put on additional SD card.

Next solution is Garmin Nuvi. Garmin Nuvi maps are much more expensive than Tomtom.

I myself live in the Netherlands, and i ordered a Navigon 2100 US.
I dont have problems with installing the EU maps, works perfect! Also added EU POI's works perfect also! only bad news is i cant get Reality view EU to work, and i have put in more language files, but i can still only choose from english and spanish and german. Not that my english is that bad.

Hmm... this is very interesting. Well, if you don't need reality view... that's not a problem. In my case, this was the very reason why I bought Navigon 2120 Max. I really need this feature for freeways driving. Otherwise, I'll be lost! GPS was the answer to my prayers.

Tom Tom G930 has now this feature. By the way, try Navigon 8100. We don't have this model yet in North America but its been released in Europe.
