| 5100 power-up power-down time
anyone have a clue why it takes so long to power up and down the Navigon 5100? Drives me crazy. I have to press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds to turn the unit on, or off ... ridiculous. I'm curious if other users have this same experience.

As far as I know, there are three power down sequences. 1. Momentary push: Standby [power save] 2. 6+ seconds: OFF/ON 3. ~15 Seconds: Reset. The manuals is HERE: ftp://ftp.navigon.com/us/manuals/Man...20_English.pdf | |

thanks for the response. The standby mode improves things. Strangely, the section on standby mode in the 2100 manual doesn't appear in the 5100 manual - well, at least I don't see it in there. Thanks

IIRC, the 6-second power up is only for the initial start up. After that, a momentary push is all that's required unless the unit has been dormant for more than 10 days.
