| Hello from my Irish vacation - with a question straight away
Hi, I've been using GPS devices for road navigation for quite a while - various Becker car radios with GPS integrated into the car. However, I've only now got around to using PathAway 4 on my Palm Centro extensively for walking cross country in the wide open north of the Irish Republic. On those walks I have noticed a strange (to me) phenomenon, and I hope that one of the experts in this forum can explain it to me: ![]() I've set Pathaway to record its points at 1 second intervalls; occasionally, with excellent reception (Pathaway reporting that 10 to 12 satellites sent a usable signal), I would walk in a straight line, when suddenly my track on the screen would veer off sharply to one side, continue in that direction for 5 to 10 seconds, change direction again and in the next 10 seconds or so get "back on track", making a narrow "V". This happened about a dozen times during the two weeks I spent up in Donegal. Any explanation, anyone? Kind Regards, Jochen Last edited by JochenK; 07-28-2008 at 7:11 AM. I've seen something like that on a Garmin 76s. But it was due to a software update that had a bug in it. As far as some phenomenon that would cause this like you are seeing I can't really say. Did you do any kind of update to the device before it was giving the erroneous track positions?

I constantly change my Centro's configuration, so it's hard to say what might have had any effect on PathAway; thanks for the hint - I'll look into it. Regards, Jochen
