Mobile Phone Navigation Software

Rock on, first thread in this section

What navigation software are you using on your phone?
What phone do you have and who is your provider?
What is the cost of said software?
What are the features?

I have an i425e on Boost Mobile, I'm currently using Mologogo mainly because it is free.

It doesn't offer turn by turn, or directions of any kind for that matter, but it does offer some other unique cool features. You get an account on the mologogo website, that allows you to see where your phone is, handy if, like me, you have a habit of getting drunk and losing your phone.

You have the option to make that information public, but I would not want to do that personally.. You can also have a friends list of other users, and be notified when those users are nearby and send and receive messages with them. It also downloads real time traffic and weather information for your location.

Re: Mobile Phone Navigation Software

I use the Garmin Mobile XT software package on an AT&T Tilt. For phone GPS it works ok and its limits are purely due to the phone. I only use it rarely when I'm in someone elses car and it does tend to eat a battery up.

The thing that i like about it is i can send a text message via XT to another person that uses XT on there phone, when they click on it it brings up a map with my location on it. Its a neat but trivial gadget.

Im currently running 2 mapsets on it.
v2009.10 with just the state of Texas
v2009 Topo with the North Central Texas area.

Re: Mobile Phone Navigation Software

Hey Fog (welcome to the site btw ) if you send an SMS message via XT to someone without XT, is there any extra data attached to it or does it give coordinates or anything? I've wondered about that seeing as Google maps is starting to do similar now.
