Hello NJokeedokee! This is actually a "Visitor Message," which I believe would be viewable by anyone visiting my profile. I'm actually fairly new to the GPS Discussion forum myself, so I haven't yet learned all of the features and capabilities available...but I do know how to send a Private Message:

If you are currently viewing a discussion thread -

1. Click on the user name of the person you wish to send a Private Message to.
2. A drop down menu will appear with several choices...simply select "Send a private message to..."


If you are viewing a person's Public Profile -

1. Ignore the "Visitor Messages" box at the bottom of the window.
2. Instead, click on "Send Message" in the upper left corner, under the person's user name.
3. A drop down menu will appear with two choices...simply select "Send a private message to..."


A "Private Message" will only be viewable to the sender, receiver - and presumably by site administrators, if they feel the need to investigate something and go digging. But it is a private conversation that wouldn't be viewable by other forum members....
