Leica SR20

We use Leica SR20 for single frequency static differential observations and on a fairly regular basis when we are closing a session the receiver displays "closing file please wait" or some such message and never closes the file. THe file is then unuseable by LGO software.

Leica support has gotten us to reformat the card and reload the firmware as a fix but it does not last long.

Anyone else having that trouble. Any fixes out there.

Cards do not last forever regardless of they claim. Have you tried using a brand new card?

Absolutely did and it failed again a few weeks after the new card was installed.

Then you have to ask yourself the question why it worked for a few weeks then failed? again? Cards don't usually do this but then can depend on the brand. Are you using the same card make/size etc each time. If so then try another brand and preferably an industrial quality card, don't buy on price.

i run roughly 80 leica 1200 pro reference stations. i have discovered (the hard way) that the leica sensors are very picky about which cards will work. i used generic 1gb cards that started to fail within a few months. the only ones that work reliably are the industrial sandisk that ship oem from leica.
