Re: Magellan problems

Have you tried entering the zip code without a city name?

Re: Magellan problems

GPS gives correct directions on screen and audio, however the map goes from being correct location to somewhere else in the world. How can I fix?

Re: Magellan problems

Is your magellan new, used, refurbished,or a store demo?
What model magellan is it?
I ask because I purchased a refurbished magellan 4370 from
amazon. com and it did what you are saying but with all
addresses. I contacted magellan support and it turned out to
be in there refurbished box but was a store demo. Which is
set as a demo and will not give correct addresses. Amazom
replaced it for me with no problem
So is it only with that address or all addresses you wish to
go to?

Re: Magellan problems

A Magellan Meistro-purchased new-so apparently not same problem as yours-however I would not know if it was refurbished-it was sold to me as new but bot on ebay. We took a trip today and it worked fine.
Thanks for responding.

Re: Magellan problems

It is most likely the maps and not the gps. I just purchased new maps for mine and it fixed a lot of errors in the maps.
Magellan uses a lot of navtec maps and there are errors. I updated to
tel atlas on the 4370 and they are a lot better than what I had.
My original maps showed my house 4 blocks away but most other things were ok

Re: Magellan problems

So... how do I install the software update download to the gps unit? I downloaded what appears to be a large number of files. But I can find no information from Magellan on what to do next, which files to install, etc. Can anyone help? Nate

Re: Magellan problems

Are you using the magellan content manager to down load the update?
you can download that for free from magellans web page.
you have to conect the 4370 to the computer before starting the content manager the just check for updates from the menu.
don't turn anything off till the updates are complete

Thanks, Gene. I'll try this. I saw the content manager download but it appeared to me to have a cost. BTW, does this work on Mac? I have a PC I could use, but Mac is preferred. Nate

Do you mean to connect the GPS to the computer before starting the process? Or to download the content manager, THEN connect to the computer?

Re: Magellan problems

Content manager is free but I think it only works on a pc.
put magellangps in your browser, then down to software updates
before selecting the site.
put in your gps 4370 then download the content manager
it will tell you if there is a mac version, don't think so.

Re: Magellan problems

down load the content manager to your pc first.
then it will require you to conect your gps just before
starting the content manager so it can tell what gps you have
