| Magellan 1475t, advertisements ??
I just bought the above model of the Magellan GPS to compare with the Garmin nuvi. I'm furious to discover that there are advertisements that appear at random times on the map screen. "Best Western Rewards, get 1500 points". This just started to appear at random times on the map screen, then disappear in a minute or two. I can't find a way to disable this. If Garmin did this as a deliberate advertisement, it's absolutely unacceptable. You do get what you pay for.

Does it by chance have free traffic updates? I've heard that Garmin's with lifetime free traffic give small ads when in areas that have traffic support. Never seen them myself as I don't have one with free traffic though. My car's built in Nav has free FM traffic and no ads. Welcome to the forum btw!  |
