Magellan Maestro 4250 Annoying fixture

Hi everyone
I just got the Maestro 4250 after I returned the tomtom G730 because my house was ½ mile away from where it really is and much other POI also is off.

Maestro 4250 graphic are not as good as tomtom, it is hard to see all that green color it does not show all the little main road # when is zoom out.
On Tomtom G730 I can change and customize the road colors to my taste witch I can’t do on Maestro 4250, If were not because my house was ½ mile away from it actual location I would keep it.

Magellan Maestro 4250 is very easy to use and does not have as many menu as the tomtom G730.

Now the Magellan Maestro 4250 is very annoying to me when you are on a highway and on almost every exit it tells you to go straight. For example if I enter the main Highway I-95 on exit 5 and I need to get off at exit 20 on 30 miles, it will tell you in 2 mile go straight, then after that in 3 mile go straight, the in 2 mile go straight, until you get to exit 20. It should just say exit 20 on 30 mile, that’s how my old gps Lawrence Iway 250C and tomtom G730 do. I understand if is a Y split to give me directions but if is a regular exit it should just go by. All this problem is cuz the POI exit parameter to look for the gas station, hospital etc next to the next exit, and there is not way to disable it.

Has any one notice this problem, I noticed because I have used other GPS, a new user may not notice this.

I would like your opinion. I am still trying to decide if to return it or not.

Tks
Reyes

Re: Magellan Maestro 4250 Annoying fixture

That does sound annoying. My nüvi does the "Y" split thing... cruising down the freeway and it seems out of nowhere it says "Keep right in 1/2 mile" because there is a freeway interchange there.

In most cases it is totally unnecessary, but I've been on a few interchanges where it would help to know the correct lane to be in.

It does this only on interchanges between two freeways, not on every exit. If it annoys you that much return it, because you are not going to change it.
