| Converting old MapSend (1.00e disk) maps for Explorist
A friend gave me a old Mapsend Topo Canada 2CD set for my Explorist 500. It is the older, non 3D version (version 1.00e to be exact). After half an hour with a Magellan tech support employee, I've discovered that the current "Mapsend Manager" software will not convert files from this older version of Mapsend Topo Canada. He says I have to have at least version 1.05 of the Topo software. I've tried taking the file "as is" and putting it on my Magellan and it doesn't change anything (still just very vague "base map"). Mapsend Manager software won't recognize the map files produced by this older version of MapSend Topo Canada... so I have basically nothing... Any way of making these older maps work on my Explorist 500 or do I have no choice but to buy the newer Mapsend Topo 3D Canada maps?? Any help / tips appreciated. Thanks. Marc P. |
