Improvements needed for the Magellan 4250

Improvements and modifications needed for the Magellan 4250
  • The 2 blue Warning screens on start up should have the option of not seeing them again on restart.
  • Should be an easy way to tell if the battery in partially or fully charged.
  • Inconsistent problem on start up.
    • Will not start up at all when plugged into vehicle (dark screen) or
    • Freezes on the blue Warning screen after start up.
  • Bluetooth problems.
    • Better set up instructions on initially finding and pairing Bluetooth.
    • Once Bluetooth is established, unit should have the option of making that the default device and continually search for it every time Magellan is on. Should not have to select “Phone” every time and then “Connect”.
    • Orange screen “Connection to short message service failed”; regardless of text message compatibility, should not come on every time Bluetooth has established connection and then have to be “checked” off to get rid of screen.
    • Volume need to be cranked up. It so low, I cannot hear the phone ringing when calling and therefore, I do not know if connection has been established.
  • Address Book should be on the main screen and canceling POI could be on the 2nd page.
  • I think if a firmware update does not come soon, many of these GPS models will be returned.
