Hi all! I just received a Magellan Maestro 3100 as a gift. Pretty neat, especially since I'm brand new to the GPS world.

Thing is, the reason that I asked for a gps was I wanted to get into geocaching, I live in the Reno/Tahoe area and there's hundreds stashed around the mountains here, even where I jog everyday! Which is great, but there's no way I see to enter lat/longitude coordinates on this thing. Its cool as a portable mapquest and all, I like that, but of course, I want more.


Does anyone know if its possible to overwrite/add to/hack the software on the 3100? I've googled everything i can think of, to no avail. I was hoping there might be a source of topo maps I could add, and a way to input coordinates too. It TELLS me them, where I am, but not where I want to go. I have a little bit of software experience, I've been trying my hand at writing nintedo DS apps, but I don't even know where to start with this... Thanks!

I had a 3050t and i could (mark) a Lat/ Long spot and save it. Also could do this on your computer as a POI. I now have a 3210 and cant do this, or dont know how yet. As for getting into the software itself, you are way above me. Good luck.
