GPS Error Message

Ever since I unplugged my GPS (1412) from my g/f's computer I'm getting a message... "Please insert update SD card". I don't have an SD card, and I can't seem to get rid of this message and use my GPS. Does anyone have any idea of why this is happening and what I can do to get rid of this message?

Re: GPS Error Message

I'll give my standard answer, which I also have seen many times from others. Search for how to do a "hard/master reset" for your GPS model number. A great many times, doing this "hard reboot" fixes a lot of problems. Not sure what a 1412 is. Magellan?

Re: GPS Error Message

Yes, MTalvola, it appears most likely to be a Magellan RoadMate 1412 (at least, I saw no other hits for GPS units with that model designation). Rick121973, if a hard reset (as MTalvola suggested) doesn't resolve the issue, you might try downloading and reinstalling the latest firmware update. Sometimes the firmware can become corrupted, but re-installing often helps with this....
