max, thanks for the welcome! ive been on the road for a couple of days and missed your post. yea i like my job. i started out as a land surveyor and migrated into the gps side of things. we decided about 10 years ago to run our own statewide reference station network. i was the only one around with the background to run it. i spend gobs of time on the high precision stuff and let the personal nav market slip by. i remember back in the day of cobbling together some old gps and a laptop for nav. i really missed the boat when the nav market exploded. checkout my web site at http://www.myfloridagps.com use my guest account ( un: guest pw: gpsnet ) and look around. i have 2 bridge monitoring projects you might like. right now the real time data are offline due to some maintenance, but you can look at the long term plots. i think this forum is a great place. hell i found it by accident. i am starting to do r&d on nav products for several of our offices that could benefit from gps without the need for the high end equipment. i will be lurking around here for tips and tricks. cheers scott |
