| GARMIN ETREX VISTA
HELP- I have a Garmin etrex Vista that is a couple years old. It has started shutting off after just a short time (approx 10-15 min) of operating. Batteries are fine. Has anyone experienced this problem and found a solution? Thanks for your input. |

Is the battery removable? Maybe the contacts need cleaning. When using certain types of batteries (rechargeable) in a 76S, they would move around just enough to loose connection. Is the Etrex sitting still when this happens?

Thanks for your reply. I use Duracell AA batteries. They fit well in the case. I carry the GPS in a waist strap pouch while riding my road bike. This wasn't a problem for a long time but recently starting shutting off. I changed out the batteries soon after this began even though the old ones still had some charge in them. Still no help. I was thinking that a setting changed for a automatic shutdown after a specific time but couldn't find that either.
