Globalsat Issue - Button Modification

Hello,

New to the forums here, hello! I've got a little problem. Well, big problem considering the fact that my graduation and the graduation of three others depends on this problem being resolved. I purchased the Globalsat TR-101 module for the purpose of replacing it's SOS button with a wire and transistor so I can virtually 'press' the button by sending an on signal to the wires. I removed the button successfully with some careful soldering. It still worked just fine. I'd take a wire and touch both ends of the now vacant switch ports and it would properly send a SMS text message to my cel phone of the coordinates of my location.

Well, I soldered two wires to each of the ports very carefully. I turn on the module and the three LED lights keep flashing simultaneously and it doesn't seem to work anymore. By this point, the module won't even turn on right now. I removed the wires just as carefully and made sure my SIM card wasn't corrupt. Everything is fine except for this starting-up issue.

Are there any places that sell the TR-101? It seems to be discontinued. Another question I have for you all is if there are any similar models available that offer SMS messaging with the push of a button. Murphy's law went into full effect on this project, seeing that this is all due in 12 days and my graduation rides on it.
