Uniden GNS 8435

Hey guys,

I am planning a trip to Sydney this weekend and I am going to use my Uniden GNS 8435 to help me get there and navigate my way around the place.
It is a few years old now so I looked around on how to upgrade the maps to the latest ones. Unfortunately Uniden is zero help.

Can anyone point me in the right direction and tell me what exactly I should be doing?
(I have looked into igo8, and put it on my SD card, but it's coming up with some application database error. So I must not have done something correctly.)

Cheers

Hi Murty, welcome to the forum! I'm no help though. Hopefully some one who has used a Uniden will respond soon.

Re: Uniden GNS 8435

Thanks Andy I completely understand, unfortunately Uniden is not the best brand around it seems.
I have spent a good few hours playing around and researching. I have learned that (correct me if I'm wrong) iGo is the navigation software used for my particular product and I want to get 'iGo8.0' running on it. Then I need to be using 'Sensis R15' Australian maps.
So I have been looking everywhere and downloading stuff left right and centre trying to get this to work on my GPS. But I continually get no where. I really need someone to point me in the right direction and let me know if I'm on the right track.

Re: Uniden GNS 8435

Hey guys,

Just letting you know that I have sorted it all out. Turns out my SD Card was dodgy. I have installed iGO8.4 on my Uniden GNS 8435 and am playing with it now. If anyone needs help in the future, feel free to email me at murty1 [at] gmail [dot] com.

Cheers
