| GPS Use While Moving
I drive a lot with my wife. We would like a GPS that can be programmed while moving. We got a Magellan only to find it does not do this. Is there a way to find out which ones allow this? It does not seem to be mentioned in "Features" lists.

I would think most any GPS will allow this, but most have a "safety feature" that you need to turn off first. They do this to try to prevent accidents from people playing with the GPS while driving.

My built in nav won't let me change it while moving, but my nüvi 750 has never attempted to restrict me. I've never seen a setting for that.

Ya, I think we're going to return the magellan and get a garmin. We liked our old Garmin that got stolen. The Magellan takes FOREVER to do a search!! |

| Re: GPS Use While Moving What kind of car is the nav in? My Mini's nav lets adjust the navigation or any of the other settings (radio, phone, car's settings) that work through the same interface. By voice or with the i-drive type controller.

Andy, 2006 Camry Solara (convertible!). All the touch screen buttons gray out at 2 or 3 MPH (except emergency POI). Then become active again at the next stop light. Frustrating because I only use it when my wife is along, and she is the one trying to enter the search request. |
