New ASUS R600 Firmware update

Although I'm probably the only ASUS R600 user here, i thought I should post a heads up on this forum.

Question. I just bought a R600. I'm not a tech guy so how do you update the unit if it has no USB port?

Glad to see another ASUS user!

just download the update file from ASUS website (make sure you download the correct version for your area), unzip it and put the files into ur SD card. Follow the instruction (power point format) and enjoy your R600

.
IMPORTANT: you must use memory card that is smaller than 2GB. The memory card came with my R600 which was 2GB didn't work for firmware update. I had to run to electronic store and purchase an 1GB after at least 10 tries.

So, I have to buy the PowerPoint program? Man, thats like $145.00 And I guess I need a card reader?

Oh if you dont have power point, i think i can screen shot the slides for you.
As for the card reader, unfortunately, yes you do need one for the update.

I know nothing about card readers, mine is a built in one on my laptop.
nevermind the screen shots. I converted the instruction into web page format, hope it helps.

I just purchased my ASUS R600 and would like to do the upgrade. Does anyone know what unzip program will work to open the file? Does snyone have it?

i'm an r600 user. my r600 is always telling me to take small roads and not the highway. do u guys know how to change that setting?
