QWERTY keyboard

What's with garmin only putting a QWERTY keyboard on their higher end models?
We all use QWERTY to type on our computers, PDA's and smartphones.
Then if we purchase a lower end model, they only include an ABC keyboard. It's very awkward trying to type with this keyboard.
I sure hope they can change this with future releases of software.

Re: QWERTY keyboard

First thing you could try is emailing that request to Garmin. Something like that could be done in a software update.

I don't know which models have which, but my nuvi 750 offers either keyboard layout, your choice.

Tools/Settings/System/Keyboard Layout

If they don't offer that choice on all models (or at least all nuvi models), they probably could and are choosing not to.

Re: QWERTY keyboard

I sent them an email, but they were saying that they are not even considering including this update in the older models and "..Thanks for your suggestion.."..oh well.,.

Re: QWERTY keyboard

How old is the unit? My 2720 got a "qwerty upgrade" after it was out of production...

Re: QWERTY keyboard

Garmin doesn't seem to be updating their discontinued Nuvis like that have done with other models in the past. Maybe because that is a feature some of the newer Nuvis.
