Any way to make a loop?

Is it possible to make a loop route that you could jump in at any point and jump off whenever? I ask this because as a motorcyclist we have areas that are mapped out we can find but maybe we don't want to use the same start and finish spots! Motorcycle rallies have these paper maps that are usually a loop to the same finish as start, I would like to put these in my gps!

Yes, you can do that with units supporting multi-point routing. How many points are you talking?

Nice avatar, BTW. I enjoyed my time in OZ when I was in the Navy.

Damn, now you've answered and given me a question I'm not sure I understand! I'm not sure how many points, only as many as it takes to force the routing to go my way! I think I'm a GPS dummy? I like the avatar too! :-)

Re: Any way to make a loop?

Well, the thing with the multi-point routing units (I only have experience with Garmins for auto/road units) is they WILL route you from point A -> B -> C, etc, BUT... It may very well not be exactly the way you want to go. If you have this huge loop and only put in 3 or 4 points, for example, it will get you to "hit" those points, but the route in between may not be the same as the one you want on paper if there's a shorter/faster way. In fact, it may not even route you in order if it "sees" a more "economical" way to cover all the points. There's no "scenic route" function and if there were, how exactly would it know what someone wanted anyway?

So, the more points you can put into the route, the better because you can "force" it closer to the actual loop you want. It adds more "resolution".

As for your avvy, anyone chummy? How's her mum...she gotta sis, mate?
