Nuvi 255 slow finding POI's

Bought my Nuvi 255 about a month ago to replace a Magellan Maestro. Love the Garmin, find it routes much more efficiently and re-routes quickly. One small complaint. When I search for POI's by name, it seems to take forever to find anything. That rotating eggtimer gets annoying after awhile.

Does anyone else experience this issue, and is there a solution?

Re: Nuvi 255 slow finding POI's

The length of time the egg timer is displayed is proportional to the amount of searching it has to do. If you search for say Mcdonalds; you will probably get a quick search because there will be many branches within a few miles of you. However; search for somewhere unusual and a long time will be taken and then it might display that the nearest is in a different state/country. This will also happen if you misspell the place or it does not exist within the map area of your Garmin
