1490T GPS indicator in "next turn icon" ?

Ok, first, I've taken all my meds.
At one time there was what seemed to be an indication of GPS signal in the "next turn" information display (upper left corner) while navigating. It was VERY subtle. It was just a dot made up of a few pixles right in that turn information icon. If I would go under a bridge the dot would turn off, when I came out from under the bridge the dot would come on and stay on.
Well now that little dot seems gone or my vision has degraded enough to where I can't see it any more.
Has anyone else ever noticed this "feature".
Is there something that needs to be enabled to get it? I have the maps set to "most detail" but that indicator is now not there. I have gone through several firmware updates so maybe one of those removed it or I disabled some option. I would like to get it back if possible.
Any insight appreciated.
