Newbie - maps detail question

This is my first ever handheld GPS and I'm a bit lost.

In the store I looked at a few different brands. Most of them had really nice maps where they would label gas stations, restaurants, etc. I wasn't able to check the GPSMAPS 60CXs that I bought due to some odd circumstances. When I looked at the map after I got home, I don't see any of that on the basemap. Is that something I have to purchase or am I doing something wrong that I don't see it?

Re: Newbie - maps detail question

I don't think the Basemap has many (or any) POIs or points of interests like gas stations, etc. You'll need to purchase City Navigator software to be able to route off anything except the major roads in the basemap.
