Nuvi 1300 didn't turn back on

I downloaded the software update, unplugged it from the computer. It turned itself off but did not turn back on. The instructions state: "Disconnect your device from your computer and let it restart. Do not turn it on or off until it returns to the main screen,* because that may cause your device to become inoperable."

I sent an email to Garmin... now what?

This might solve your problem, the procedure was to unplug from your computer as you did and then wait for the GPS device to go to the main screen (where to) and then shut off the device. After this you needed to plug the device back into your computer and leave it be for 30 seconds. When it goes back to the main screen after again being unplugged from the computer, you are all set. I would leave it off and plug it back into your computer for 30 seconds and then disconnect and see if it goes back to the main screen. Hopefully it will.

Thanks for the reply. The unit didn't turn back on. It just shut down, never rebooted as it was supposed to. I hesitate to plug it back in and have it become a useless paperweight. But, maybe it's already a brick. Now I wait for a Garmin rep on the phone.

62 minutes on hold... but its fixed. They suggested not simply unplugging it but "safely ejecting" it from computer. That's what I get for literally following their instructions.

Glad that it is working now. My unit is a 1350T and the upgrade took with no problem.
