| Garmin c330 suction mount help
Hey all! Just wanted to say, before creating this thread I did run a search, and didn't have any luck in finding my answer... so I'm sorry if someone has already posted this question before. A friend of mine let me borrow his Garmin c330, and it was very helpful. The problem I'm having is with the "lever" on the mount. I'm afraid I have possibly broken it! The problem I'm having is that the lever won't close and secure the suction. It was working fine the other day, and now it's like when I pull it towards me it won't go all the way, thus not locking like it should. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix for this? I wish I could take it apart haha. Thanks! |

Hello, mattp1803. The suction cup mount for the Garmin StreetPilot c330 is about $40 on Amazon.com. The prices are about the same on ebay. It's $50 on the Garmin site, unless you're an AMA member, in which case it's $30. It's $33 on GPSCity.com. (I've bought many accessories from GPSCity, and the prices are reasonable and the parts are top notch). I've never seen the mount, so can't give you any direct experience in taking it apart. Typically on "lever" style suction cup mounts, the lever either rotates like a crank shaft and pulls on a flange sticking up out of the backside of the suction cup, thus forcing a vacuum to form under the suction cup. Other designs are like cams, but accomplish the same purpose - pulling up the center of the suction cup to create a vacuum. If you're willing to buy a replacement mount, then I suppose there's no harm in trying to take apart the broken one and seeing if it can be fixed.... |

This lever is the type where you push it forward to lock it onto the glass. It feels so tight at this point to where I feel that i'm going to break it just trying to "fasten" it. I feel bad because my buddy let me borrow it... we'll see haha. Thanks again.

I actually am now the proud owner of a Garmin nuvi 255. I had read a lot of good reviews, and decided this model would fit my life style perfectly. This is my first auto GPS, and I am very happy with it! My only complaint is like most others, and that is the fact that "Samantha" sounds mad at you all of the time. I've updated my maps, and software, and now I'm looking to see if I can download a new woman's voice haha!
