Considering a 765t. How big an SD?

Lookin at a 765t. Want the aux out 3.5mm Jack and bt. How big an SD shoulfld I consider? 1gb has been fine for my 60CSx, but that unit does not use custom voices or icons. So, how much SD storage is enough?

Re: Considering a 765t. How big an SD?

mavrick1903, the full City North America NT map is over 2 GB in size, and the Europe map is likely even bigger. I realize that the Garmin nüvi 765T comes preloaded with either map in internal memory (or other geographic locatoins, depending on the SKU you purchase). I just wanted to give you an idea of how big CN NT maps are. The 765T uses microSD cards, just like your GPSMAP 60CSx. In addition to maps, custom voices, vehicle icons, POI's and MP3 music files will all take up space that you'll need to allow for (if you plan to use any of those features).

You can't hardly even find 1 GB microSD cards anymore, and with the current cost different size microSD cards being so close for 2 Gb, 4 Gb & 8 GB sizes these days, I'd recommend going with the 8 GB or 4 GB card ($12.47 vs $8.70 on Amazon). It's a lot more expensive for a 16 GB card, and there's no need (unless you want to load a bunch of MP3 music files onto it). Those will come down from their nearly $50 price once the 32 GB microSD cards become more common.
