GPSMap 168

I have a GPSMap 168 that I am attempting to get the waypoints off of, writing them down, to put on a mapping program so I can use them on either my 60cs and on my Lowrance HDS7. The ones on the 168 are setup at Position Format LoranTD and the Map Datum is WGS84. When I look at the actual coordinates on the 168 they numbers don't match anything on my program (EasyGPS).

Can I change the format on the 168 and all the waypoints will still be correct on the map but in a different format?

thanks for any help.

Re: GPSMap 168

jchief, you can change your coordinate format on your Garmin GPSMAP 168 Sounder. Position Format is discussed on page 74 of your Owner's Manual. Loran TD is discussed on pages 83 - 84. I think that if you change your Position Format to "hdd°mm.mmm" and re-download your waypoints, routes & tracks, the coordinate data will be in the format that EasyGPS expects. You should then be able to switch your Position Format back to "Loran TD" on your GPSMAP 168 with no change in data - you aren't modifying data, just how it's presented.
