| keyboard response is very slow
Just purchased Garmin 1300. Keyboard very slow to respond to touch at times. Sometimes acts like it's frozen, but it will go back to previous screen so obviously not locked.

I'd take it back and exchange it for another one just to be it just isn't yours that's messed up. If the replacement does the same thing, get a refund...like that same day and buy a different model later after more research. With me, that second one wouldn't even leave the parking lot if it had the same problem...it would go right back for a full refund. If you bought it on-line, return it anyway for another one and then, if applicable, a full refund. Just a slower way to go about the same thing. |

I notice serious lags when searching the Where To? > Address listings on my zumo 660. I just assume that it's trying to search for likely hits based on what I've entered so far. Are you finding the virtual keyboard response laggy in other screens, CharlesWNichols?

You could try calibrating the touch screen. Maybe it's having trouble detecting exactly where you're pressing. It's on page 47 of the manual. http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/3130_OwnersManual.pdf 1. Turn off the Nuvi 2. Hold the upper left corner of the screen while turning on the Nuvi. 3. Release the power key, but keep holding the upper left corner of the screen until a white screen with a "Press Dot" appears. Then release the upper left corner and follow the calibration (ie, press on the dot). Since you said you just bought it, did it have you calibrate the screen when you first turned it on? |
