| Garmin MapSource Software
G'day all, I believe I'm having a problem, then again it may be just a "senior" moment. I had to format C and reload my entire system, in the process I went to the Garmin's website and downloaded the latest ver. of MapSource. When I attempted to exe the file I received a message stating it could not find a previous ver. of MapSourse so it terminated. I own two Garmin GPS unit and do remember (the senior moment) receiving a Garmin software CD with either. What can I do to get MapSource to load? Thanks Bob |

Hey Bob, It sounds like you downloaded the update version off of the Garmin website maybe? Did you download it from the public area of the website or did you sign in to mygarmin to grab it? If you are signed into MyGarmin you should be able to download the latest version of the software as well as the maps respective to your unit(s). What OS is this by the way?

Max, Thanks for the reply. I'm using XP with SP3 and I did go the the Garmin site; signed into MYGarmin and downloaded the most current version of MapSource. Will revisit the site and see if I can determine where I may have erred. Cheers Bob |

For the life of me I cannot find a link to download MapSource software while logged into MyGarmin.com, I do have an account. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks! |

Small correction...while that is the latest MapSource file, it won't install unless it first detects that MapSource is already installed. It's meant to be an update install only (despite the fact that it contains the entire code). Here is a workaround that has previously been discussed in the forum. Thanks to dav for providing the workaround!
