Anyone with experience/reviews on nuvi 500

I am very interested in getting a nuvi 500. This looked like the best device for my needs, as I wanted a GPS that could be used for car, bike, off road, and lake. However, I have heard mixed reviews about this device on the internet.
So what I am asking now is if anyone who owns or has used a nuvi 500 could give me their opinion on it and whether or not you recommend me to purchase this GPS. I want a good idea of what I am getting into before I drop $300-$400.

Re: Anyone with experience/reviews on nuvi 500

Hi, I have just bought a nûvi 550 because it is waterproof so I can use it on my motorcycle. I have so far used it only in the car. It seems to work very good even if I have some problems to find my way in the menues. Unfortunately the manual is a disaster and you have to find out most of the features yourself. Another interesting thing is that it seems that the model is new and there is not sufficient support for the product e.g. I bought an original kit to mount the device on the motorcycle. However the kit concists only from the parts to mount the device, not the part to mount on the motrocycle so now I have no idea of how to mount the kit on the motorcycle. On the Garmin support FAQ they just state that I might need to by a supplement kit from a company RAM- in US. I live in Sweden so it is a challenge.
I also have a problem in that I can't import routes through the MapSource software but I will post this problem as a new problem on this site.
