Mapsource Route to NUVI 760

How do I load a route from mapsource to my NUVI 760. When I call up "transfer to" on Mapsource it only allows maps to be transferred. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Mapsource Route to NUVI 760

This is what I did:
1. Attach your Nüvi with the USB
2. Open Mapsource
3. Select the "route tool" (icon of three squares connected with lines)
4. Create a short route by right-click on a location and choose "Begin route"
5. Then choose another location by right-click and choose "Add to route"
6. Highlight the route in the pane on the left side of map
7. Go to the Transfer menu and choose Send to device
8. Unless you've selected any maps, tracks or waypoints the only option should be "Routes"
9. Click send and you're done.

This is a worthless way of creating routes in Nuvi, much much MUCH easier to do it in the Nüvi itself.
Any settings in the mapsource software (average speeds, road preference etc) will be discarded upon transfer to the device. Utter useless.

Good luck!

Re: Mapsource Route to NUVI 760

Thanks for the response. I'll try it. I am used to planning my route in Mapsource and transferring to my Strret Pilot 2730 so I assumed I could do the same for my wife's NUVI 760. I have since done the route planning on her NUVI itself as you suggest and now that I am getting the hang of changing the route or adding / deleting waypoints it is becoming much more intuitive.

Re: Mapsource Route to NUVI 760

When I try to create a route in Mapsource, all I can get is a straightline route. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Mapsource Route to NUVI 760

When you are in the Routes tab and have the Routes tool selected, each time you click on a spot on the map it includes it in the route.

If you click on the Waypoints tab, you can create named waypoints.

Going back to the Routes tab, you can simply click on the named waypoint and it includes it in your route.

If this isn't quite the answer you are looking for, please ask again and I'll try for a more specific answer.

Or do you mean it is drawing straight lines? You do need to have your routable map installed to do routing. The basemap does not support it.

Click the "Utilities" menu and "manage map products". I have City Navigator in there. What do you have?
