| Working with Garmin Nuvi Routes
I use my Nuvi 750 to help me make deliveries for Meals of Wheels using my scooter. I enter the clients addresses into a route and let the Nuvi determine the best route. This is desirable instead of having individual addresses entered into favorites. Too often the GPS doesn't recognize that I have reached my destination and doesn't give me directions to the next address. It would be desirable not to have to delete the address from the route, since I may be doing it in the future. When I have deleted an address from the route the gps will send me back to the previous address or where the distance of other address might be equal distance from my location, the gps selects an address which is out of sequence when the route was first calculated. I've encountered this problem when using a route laid out using Mapsource/RoadTrip. If I place a waypoint in the middle of a large intersection (3 lanes both directions) the gps often will not recognize that I have passed the waypoint. Any suggestions on how to overcome this problem? |

I would have a chat first with Garmin and check out if manually placing a Waypoint has some bearing (excuse the pun) on road routes. It may be that the software is more accomodating of automatically generated routes passing waypoints and let's face it, you probably don't want to be circling in the middle of an intersection until the software locks, especially on a scooter. What I'm saying is that a manually fixed waypoint may require you to get a more precise lock than an auto-routed lock and your fix accuracy is variable based upon factors affecting signal reception. Anyway, good on you being involved in Meals on Wheels. Those schemes not only provide confidence that folk get a good feed but also provide the only social contact that some folks have. My hat off to you 'jcabot' /bow. -Andy |

Mine sometimes does that. Drives me nuts. Sometimes it thinks the address I entered is on the other side of the street from where it really is, and it won't agree that I've arrived until I've driven around the block! I have not found the solution. Please inform us if you find one. There should just be a "continue to next waypoint" button, but I haven't found it. |
