Resizing Mapsource Maps?

Hello All,

I have recently gotten into the world of GPS and purchased a Garmin eTrex Legend. (Primarily for the sake of it being waterproof and inexpensive.)

Well, I aam now trying to load the unit with a set of maps from the Garmin Mapsource MetroGuide North America CD's.

I want about three counties worth of roads, but the metroguide splits my state up into three sections. And the counties just happen to reside between these two map sections, so to get all the roads I would need BOTH map sections added to my GPS.

Well, they are over the 8 MB limit of the unit together, so I can only add one map section at a time. Not so helpful...

I am hoping someone may know of a way to reduce the size of one of these map files, or split them up or somehting along those lines. Is that even possible?

Thanks!!

Re: Resizing Mapsource Maps?

to the site!

Unfortunately there is no way to change the size of the sections in Mapsource when you are selecting areas. Depending on the map product, the size of the areas change.
