| Nuvi 760 Freezing
Hi everyone. I updated my Nuvi 760 to the latest software version via the Garmin web updater a couple of days ago That was the first update I have made to it since purchased December last year. Since the update the Nuvi keeps freezing. It starts ok and goes for a little while then just stops. You have to turn it off and then it goes gain for a bit then stops.I have tried it just on internal battery power (fully charged) and it just turn off. Turn it on and then it freezes after a short while. This is driving me nuts. I am takin git back to the place I got it and they said if it needs any work Garmin here in Australia have at least a 2 week turnaround. great. I flying to LA Sep 2 and need to use it on the road for 3 weeks. Hope it's nothing too serious. Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

I have restored it via settings. Still freezing. Oh well it's off to where I got it from on Monday afternoon so they can check it. Just hope like hell it's resolved before I leave Sydney.

I guess you have updated your 760 to firmware v3.1. Suggest you try to install v3.0 instead. I have read about freezing etc from users after updating their 760s to v3.1. You can get the older versions from this site if you need it - Index of /perry/nuvi Last edited by alwaysGPS; 08-02-2008 at 10:41 AM. |

Thanks alwaysGPS. That is exactly what happened. I thought it might have been the problem so took the 760 back to the retailer and they put it back to v3.0. Has been perfect since |

Keith, Garmin even recommends this on their website, and sends you to another link for older versions. I'll try to find it again... nope, can't find it. I must have been dreaming... I'll retract my statement.
