Maps / Routes when no real Map...

Hi all.
I am new to this forum and to the GPS "world" got my first unit 4 weeks ago, a Garmin Nuvi 880.
Now, got the WorldMap as I will/am traveling to places outside of US and Europe despite I was told the WoldMap was not of usage.

Now I am in Venezuela and wonder is there is a way to create own map/routes as I am driving same road each day to different destinations but the road is not on the map and even that I created from - to then I hear all the time "go to high lighted road" can I import from google maps, etc?

Hi Steen! Welcome to the site!

With Garmin's GPS' the only map products that work are the ones you buy from them. They don't have any way of "drawing" your own roads and saving them.

Guess the best way to express my reaction your answer is

Any other GPS vendor that allows for this?
