260W: Can't send to device "Some devices were found...."

New here, hope this hasn't been answered a billion times before since I didn't find anything the first 4-5 pages.

I have Mapsource, 40 waypoints for my 4 week summer desert trip, but Mapsource won't transfer to my Nuvi 260W. I can save the waypoint file (*.gmb) to the device, I can download FROM the device i.e. it recognizes the Garmin unit as hooked up and communicating with the PC, the PC shows my Garmin unit as "Garmin (G) and it shows +350MB free space under "properties".

In other words, everything works except sending the waypoint file to the 260w. It would work on another computer, but I can't run over there everytime I want to download a file.

The error message I get is this: "Some devices were found, none have the necessary capabilities. Please make sure your device is connected to the computer and turned on and try again. You may also need to set the interface option on your GPS to "Garmin" or "Host"."

Help!

Save the waypoint file from MapSource as a .gpx and load as a custom POI file with POI Loader. That is how I manage all of my trip routes in my Nuvi 260.
