Mapsource On Multiple PCs

Here's what may be a compltetely stupid question, but I will ask it nonetheless.

I did my 2009 update on my laptop, which has a "C" drive (extractions don't work with anything other than a "C"). I put Mapsource on the laptop and all the streets and POI's are there (nice). Now when I downloaded Mapsource to my desktop, all I see are the basic main roads.

My question is, can I download the 2009 map data from my 260W to my desktop and see what I am seeing on my laptop?

Thanks for your endulgence.

Re: Mapsource On Multiple PCs

I have never succeeded in downloading maps from the GPS to Mapsource. I had to get Garmin to send me the original DVD.

You may be able to transfer the maps you used on the laptop to the PC, though.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, that's the impression I've been getting too. I'll locate the maps on the laptop, put them on my external hard drive and more them over, if it's feasible.

Hopefully, that will do the job.

Thank you for your reply.
