Hello from Trinidad and Tobago

Hello all,

I'm Kevin from the Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Toabgo. I recently purchased a Garmin nuvi 780. I absolutely love the unit. It is the perfect size for portability and screensize.

The unit came with maps of the US and I believe either Canada or Europe on it, but not the Caribbean region. There is a basic map of Trinidad on it but with very little detail as only the major roads and highways, and not complete at that either.

I called Garmin and apparently they have not generated a map for the Caribbean region yet, and do not have any knowledge of it even being done in the furure.

Does anyone here know of any third party map of Trinidad and Tobago that is compatible with the nuvi 780? If so, I will really apppreciate some assistance.

Thank you.

DAY: Thank you, nice to be here.

MAX: Thanks for the welcome. Yes I am in the process of getting some help, however I'm really new at this stuff so it's still a bit confusing.

I haven't gotten the map on my nuvi yet.

BTW, so you know where I can download venrut?

Thanks again.

Re: Hello from Trinidad and Tobago

lutch,

All the sites discussing venrut seem to be in Spanish (or Portuguese, I can't tell them apart).

Makes it too hard for me to track it down...

Max, after seeing our product, you might want to revisit your phrase: "Nothing good is free, nothing free is good"!

Venrut can be downloaded here:
www.gpsyv.net
(There is also a document that shows how to help us improve/correct it, though the document is in spanish)

The group that produces Venrut is here:
