Nuvi 350 touchscreen

Is this a common problem? I'll be typing on the touchscreen and it will register something clear on the other side of the screen. Not even close to where I touched.

Re: Nuvi 350 touchscreen

Not that I am familiar with, but I have similar problems going from the Zumo to the Nuvi because the screen sensitivities are way different. On the Zumo you have to 'poke' a bit more (and often with gloves on) and the Nuvi you definitely do not. What ends up happening is my pinky or side of my hand brushes the other side (or some other point on) the screen and it thinks Im typing there.

Also you could try calibrating sensitivity, in the settings menu - just to be sure.

I thought my Nuvi 660 had this problem but after having the same issues with my friends 660 i tried using a pencil eraser and that cleared up the issues. That told me, Im the problem .

Your situation could be totally different, but just letting ya know what worked for me

Re: Nuvi 350 touchscreen

Thanks for the response but ever since I noticed it messing up, I've been very deliberate and careful with my poking. It still happens and I have recalibrated. Maybe I'll have to keep a pencil eraser handy.

@ pencil eraser...as far as I know this is not a big issue. I know alot of folks say the Garmin screens are 'touchier' than the others, but uhh...I thought that was the point .

If you're noticing it consistently and reapeatably...give Garmin TS a call. They are usually very fast to resolve a problem unit if its a hardware issue
