have a nuvi 200. downloaded and installed a quebec trail map in it(not on sd card). need to remove it and can't figure out how useing mapsoursce. I some how earased the noth america city guide that came pre loaded on map source but am unable to eraese the quebec trail map on mapsource program or on my gps. (no idea on how to get the north america guide back on there)
secondly, i have a free upgrade to the 2009 N.A.city guide. it downloades, unzips, unlocks then, with usb connected and sd card installed, says theres not enough memery in the garmin unit. Normally i can figure this stuff out but i'm pullin my hair out and i don't have much left.any direction you can point me would be greatly appreciated. thanks

In Windows Explorer/My computer, browse to the G: or whatever drive is NUVI on your PC.

Open up the Garmin folder. Is there a file named gmapprom.img in the folder (or thereabouts) when the Nuvi is connected to your PC?

How big is the file?


In order to 'clear the maps' from the nuvi you'll need to erase gmapprom.img. However, that IS your mapping...all of it I believe. So, you'll need to also have the tools to reload the mapping.
