| Running two different mapsourse
Hey Guys....Hello, I have a question regarding a Garmin NUVI 250.Is it possible to run two map areas on my Garmin, currently I have Europe, but I want to take my Garmin to the US and intend to put North US on a SD card, is this possible I hope that someone can advise me, thanks.. |

Models differ - but as far as I know you can have all the maps (unlocked) that you want. It's just that you can only have 1 active at a time. Welcome to the site! |

(relocated the thread into Garmin discussion) What you are doing sounds feasible though I have not done it myself. As long as both mapsets are unlocked for your device however - this should not be an issue. I am interested in the outcome - because every time I try this it tells me that my maps aren't unlocked for whatever unit I am trying them on...which gets annoying cause they are. |

thanks! do you think it is possible if I have the us mapsource on a sd card that I can switch between the two maps without loosing the data on the garmin? Joe |

Right off hand I do not think so, but not having tried it, cannot say for sure. My understanding is that replacing the map does a full memory reset back to factory defaults, though. |
