GPSmap 60CSx not accurate

Hi,

I just bought 60CSX and has been exploring it together with my samsung i780 and my magnetic compass. I realise some inaccuracies here and hope that my dear forum members can provide some advices:

1) Speed. I was driving down the road and a particular speed. My samsung i780 shows the speed as what it appears in my vehicle but my 60CSX always short of 5km/h. I though the calculation based on GPS and should be accurate. Do I need to calibrate it and how ... for the speed?

2) The digital compass on 60CSX was a bit off as compare to my magnetic compass, I have calibrated already but still not accurate ... what should I do?

BTW, I am using the latest version 3.60.

No offense, but I'd trust the Garmin over the Samsung any day, but also make sure you have good coverage of the sky.

The compass issue can be affected by anything electronic near it but is more accurate than a magnetic compass in my experience...just a little slower sometimes. But next to a good Silva it's going the same way.
