| A question on MapSource
I just bought a new Nuvi 370 and it didn't come with any maps on a DVD or SD, just the maps on the Nuvi itself. I registered the Nuvi with all of the appropriate codes. When I downloaded MapSource from the net, I opened it up and it was the updated version, but there were no new maps (I previously had a Quest) and no maps at all of Europe. When I tried the unlock maps option it said that the codes had already been used. How do I get the new North America and Europe onto MapSource so that I can create my own waypoints instead of doing it on the Nuvi? Also, Should I have gotten a DVD or SD of the maps so they could have been unlocked? Thanks, Cliff |

The unlock codes you have from the Quest are device specific. That may be why it won't let them work on the 370. I had the same problem with a 660. Garmin sent me a DVD of City Nav NT V8 for a cheap price. That might be your only option. Some of Garmin's products come with the software DVD, some don't, even though it's preloaded on the unit. |

Right, with my 750 the maps came loaded and unlocked on the GPS, but no DVD so Mapsource refused to run. I had to contact Garmin and have them send me a DVD. I actually paid $21,00, but many get it for free when they complain. It certainly should be free. |

| Re: A question on MapSource The ones that come with it on a DVD usually cost more. It's just another "feature" to keep an eye on I guess when picking out a GPS.

Many users have found that persistence pays off. By not settling for the first rejection, they call again, get a different person, and get it for free after being told the first time that they'd have to pay. I simply told them in the email that I needed the DVD for planning routes and creating waypoints and custom POI's on my PC, and they just sent it out, no questions. They took the address that I gave when I registered the unit and just sent it. The only reply I got was the confirmation that the DVD was on the way, and the unlock code was in the confirmation email.
