Garmin 2720 USB Drivers:

Just recently purchased a 2720 Garmin off Amazon. Fine unit but I went to try and update the units software on Garmin's site and the owners manual says not to plug in the USB cable until you load the USB Drivers from the USB Driver CD-ROM which came with the unit. Problem is no CD ROM came with the unit but the City Maps CD did. Question is, is there a place on Garmins site that can allow you to load the USB Drivers from their site or am I missing something here? Thanks for any help. PM. <><

Yeah, it's been on the website but I think its also on the Mapsource CD's (just embedded).

Regardless, here is a link to the USB drivers from Garmin's site:

Re: Garmin 2720 USB Drivers:

Thank you for that Max. Went to the site and finally found the plugin. I found that you can give Garmin your e-mail and they will send you updates for your unit. On the 2720 no current updates are available. I have the 2007 mapping from City Navagator NT(from Amazon with the updated maps, not the original maps it came with, very cool), which works really well with the exception of a few roads that have been added since then. But their site says an update for this mapping software will be available in late April this year. woo hoo! I really love the 2720. It is working really well for me at work and on the bike. Glad I made the purchase. PM. <><

Re: Garmin 2720 USB Drivers:

You're very welcome - and glad to hear you're digging the 2720 so far

The webupdater should also give you a QWERTY keyboard option too, and don't forget the updated versions of the TTS voices

(just remember you don't need to update ALL the voices - only those that you use...or you'll be there for awhile )
