Nuvi 750 How many songs will the media player hold?

I got the nuvi 750 2 weeks ago. I love it. I 'm sure it says it somewhere, but how much internal memory does it have? and do you know how many songs that translates too? Will it slow down the more songs I download to it? Thanks in advance for the info. Is it better to use an sd card for music?

Yes, it is definitely easier to use the SD for music because you don't have to haul your whole GPS back and forth to the PC . The loading of the data onto the SD cards can also be significantly faster if you have an SD reader that works with usb 2.0.

As far as the max internal memory...no idea :q sorry. I'll take a peek at the garmin specs page and see if I can provide that for ya. I know the maps take up close to 1.35gb these days.

As Max says, use SD cards.

Using 124 bit MP3, I can put 300 songs on 1G SD cards. And as small as they are, I can carry a basically unlimited number of SD cards.

There is very little spare memory on the device itself. There is simply no good reason to put the MP3s there (although for testing I did put two there before I got my cards).

Ok, thanks everyone. I already have 40 to 50 songs on internal memory. I guess I will switch to the sd card. I've never used one of these cards. Can you leave one of these in the slot all the time? Does it matter if unit is on or off? To load the card, do you put card directly in computer or do you leave it in unit and connect to computer using USB cord? (I don't think my computer has an sd card slot)

Re: Nuvi 750 How many songs will the media player hold?

I leave a card in my 750 at all times. Music is all I have on my cards.

It does not matter if the unit is on or off, even when swapping cards. Although it has to "search" for music when you swap cards, and this can take a few minutes.

I loaded two cards, one while in the unit connected via its USB cable. Drag and drop the MP3 files onto the (in my case) M:\ drive. My wife loaded the other card in the slot on her PC. That went faster. Both work in the 750 the same.
